Privacy provides requirements just as other regulations and laws do. Security is the protection of your systems, data, users and (ah-hem) privacy.

Security and Privacy should work together in general, and is one aspect of assurance process integration, where we have multiple stakeholders involved in the security program who have security responsibilities e.g HR, legal, physical security and privacy etc. This strengthens the efficacy of the security program and helps to decentralise it almost to those stakeholders also.
