It's wrong the ones saying that you must know your product capabilities "only" in order to be able to "sell the package" In my experience, what I see is that clients want, at the very first contact, someone capable to identify possible solutions that can be implemented with the product you know, better than anyone, and solve some sort of "small to big" problems that the client itself have And the only way to know this is having a complete knowledge about your product features, a huge overview about what are the "dos and donts" that you solution is able to work, and a comprehension of your product core in a way that you can determine the possible customizations necessary for your client success So avoid to be an "overviewer of capabilities"

Product knowledge is basically the best approach. You must know your product end to end, including it's deployments, configurations. Then ensure you are in top of your game in building meaningful relationships with partners and customers so that you can both get any level of support you need and as well make sales.

Para se tornar um engenheiro de vendas, primeiramente deve-se especializar tecnicamente no produto e/ou servi?o, obter todos conhecimentos necessários, ter vivencia do setor, experiência no desenvolvimento de propostas técnicas e comerciais, elabora??o de solu??es inerentes ao tema, bem como saber todos os "gargalos", os p?s e os contras, vantagens e beneficos. At the very first moment, you need to understand that you client wants something that will bring real business ROI of the investment he is doing on your solutions. So, first of all, be fair, consistent, trustfull and communicative sufficient in a way to build a strong relationship. Bring your client to the solution itself.
