I can only venture to make this contribution in respect of the contemporary challenges i observe in my country. Urbanization is a fast and growing challenge and one of the problems of this is the enourmous and uncontrollable amounts of urban waste generated - particularly plastic waste. Evacuation of such waste may not be a problem, but what to do with the evacuated waste and where to locate the dump sites- recall urbanization is happening at a very fast rate therefore a dump siye today could be a potential real estate site another day. Therefore I would see urban remediation as a bottom up and top down approach. One has to take a very long look at the before , the present and the after.
