By this we're being conscious of the fact that work needs to be done and done within a specified time frame. First, it is very important that you understand the scope of the assignment and where possible, use previous experience to forecast or project how long it will take to start and finish that particular assignment. Giving specific deadlines to your team as well as clients will greatly motivate you to respect your schedule as you do not want your name or organization's name to be tagged as 'unrelaiable'.

In my expereience, you will hardly become very effective and excellent in delivery if you're unable to set priorities. Prioritizing tasks and customers using different metrics is of utmost importance in the business world. There are tasks that cannot be completed without first exceuting some other activities. This is mostly for activities that run on a chain - basis. A good example of this is found in the finance industry where managers and other decision making staff rely so heavily on the feedback and information gotten from the field by their sales staff. With this, the priority will be set on the reports and not the decisions. The report in this case determines what strategies and decisions will be taken by the top management.
