As a general rule, go for using the least amount of arm strength you can, and then gradually pull/push harder until a point. If you feel that the task takes too much force; Stop, Look and try from the beginning - you likely missed a screw, a dollop of glue or something similar that's in the way.

Perhaps there are multiple factors needs to be addressed while initiating any maintenance of the system. Following few of them can be considered as a best practices. 1. Power off devices before maintenance.- Power to the devices is a key factor which plays a key role, make sure powering off devices with proper manner will keep devices healthy. 2. Use proper tools and follow manuals. 3. Handle with care to avoid damage. 4. Take anti-static precautions. 5. Keep work area clean and free of liquids or huddles while performing maintenance activities. 6. Backup data is necessary we initiating maintenance activities for device like storage’s, systems. Controllers or servers. 7. Ensure trained person handle maintenance activities.
