Avoiding Multitasking: Minimize multitasking, as it can lead to reduced focus and increased errors. Encourage team members to complete tasks one at a time to maintain quality and efficiency.
As per my view, project scope should be driven by a proper plan, productivity norms, wider range of suppliers, vendor assessments, skilled resources rather than following just the numbers of resources, continuous monitoring, risk assessment and mitigation, schedule and cost variance analysis. All these will be in place if the project leader is in alignment with the company and project objectives and same are transferred and delegated to all the team members. If the team is aligned than nothing is impossible to achieve. The main task is to built that productive team.

I found most of the comments right on the point; however, in my experience, many delays could be avoided if the Contractor prepares a well-thought baseline schedule. It is true that during the project, execution events could delay the project's completion. However, the delay is magnified if the delayed activity is measured against an ill-estimated activity.
In the first place, why would you commit to a schedule you are fully sure is unrealistic? It is better to provide realistic timelines and deliver earlier, than providing an unrealistic timeline and delivering late. Both are equal and opposite.
I'd say the first source of delay is an unrealistic Project Schedule. Perhaps what I'm saying seems unusual ! Sometimes project schedule are unrealistic, they're not based on real estimations. Some questions to ask. How much the schedule we've made is coherent with the real situation. Is it developed based on well gathered information? Have we used the right estimation technique ? Have we managed risks properly? Are the contingencies we've included are realistic based on professional risk management effort? Is the scope we've defined based on professional requirements management? Have we identified correctly project stakeholders to gather requirements before approving the scope baseline? Project Management is an integrative effort.

By doing a TIA, the schedule delay will be understood well before moving forward with the change which helps the entire team plan accordingly and try to stay on schedule.
