How can you align your team with the company's vision and values?

Communication is the most important thing at any work place. Every individual is different and making them understand at their levels , you have to see from their perspective and take them along where you need .

You have to ensure that the company’s vision and values are clear and understandable. They should be effectively communicated to the employees. The strategic objectives of the company should be aligned with the Vision and values of the company. This should be filtered to the performance agreements of the employees. Every single employee should understand where they fit within the vision and values of the company.

1. Lead by example: Show your team members how to live the values by consistently demonstrating them in your actions and interactions with others. 2. Set goals aligned with the vision and values: When setting targets, consider how they contribute to the overall vision. 3. Recognize and reward: Recognize their efforts publicly, provide constructive feedback, and reward their contributions. 4. Regularly revisit and reinforce the alignment: Remind them of the vison and goals. 5. Clearly communicate the vision and values: Clearly communicate company vision and goals and explain how they align with the team's goals and objectives. Open communication. Casually and two-way.

One has to get into the shoes of colleague's and understand their mind set, enable their skill set to perform to the desired level.

"Great Attitude" is all you need. Go above and beyond. Be involved in what you do and do more than what is required. It is very crucial that you do what is needed and more!

This is a common failure point for some. It is easy to establish the principles, but one slip of management can cripple the whole program. All leaders must practice what they preach consistently and not selectively.

It is important to remember that this takes time and perseverance. It does not happen overnight and continual reinforcement and coaching are essential for success. The key is coaching and not admonishment.

At Air Peace Limited, we wholeheartedly embrace the principles of the eight disciplines (8D) model in Quality Management. We believe in celebrating and recognizing every significant milestone by Top Management. We have both planned formal celebrations and what we affectionately refer to as "Celebration Blitz" moments. These unplanned instances of recognition occur spontaneously and are often initiated by key figures within our organization. For instance, when the Head of Quality surprises the team by presenting a bucket of Chicken with drinks to mark our progress towards achieving UK-TCO status, or when the Accountable Manager announces a bonus for the successful completion of the 5th IOSA project.

While this is very important, it is also critical to avoid the temptation to overdo it. Recognize and reward high performers, but remember that good performance is expected. Too much gushy, widespread praise only serves to dilute the value of the praise that is truly earned. The "trophy for all" concept is not valid in a professional organization.

This is a critical step. Identifying the problems or gaps and taking corrective action takes a page from flight deck procedures. The sooner a problem is recognized the easier it is to remedy. Just like on the flight deck, the creation and implementation of checklists can help with this step.

At Air Peace, we've had the privilege of adopting either the Six Sigma approach or the Kaizen approach for our improvement initiatives. While some may view it as taking baby steps, our Kaizen Office plays a crucial role in identifying opportunities derived from our Balanced Scorecard system and Integrated Management Review systems. These identified opportunities are then transformed into Kaizen projects which are instrumental in supporting our Corporate Vision and Core Values, helping us to sustain our objectives or, if necessary, to adapt and re-strategize in alignment with our long-term vision.

It's not complicated, however to change the general mentality at the workplace is not easy at all, find a way to make your employees part of your business, have family days, allow your employees to have their families come see what we do, allow them to participate in your Safety meetings. This is crucial, once you have achieved this, the rest will follow

Your ability to do something in the world essentially depends on the extent to which you are capable of harnessing your body and mind towards your goal, and after that, harnessing the situation in which you exist. As,a leader or manager should be able to harness first yourself and then inspiring people to follow you.leadership is about being able to take a group of people, a nation, or the entire world in a direction and to a destination that they have not imagined possible. If it was something that they could have imagined, they do not need you. They need a leader who is capable of taking them to a place they themselves cannot imagine.For this, a leader needs a profound sense of?insight.

Team building exercises between management and other staff helps in improving productivity and aligning vision and goals amongst all members.
