Acceptance Criteria defines the behaviour of functionality, on the other hand Sprint Goal establishes the business objective - WHY the sprint is important? WHAT value will be created for the end user? There is no guarantee that if all Acceptance Criteria is met, Value is created. Thus, trying to align Acceptance Criteria and Sprint Goal is probably going to lead to overwork or false sense of achievement.

In my experience, one of the common gaps/challenges related to acceptance criteria is the understanding of explicit and implicit requirements of both the PO as well as engineering team. Many times, there are expectations about writing down requirements for basic functionalities. Let's take an example of list view control and there are default features associated which are expected by customers e.g., sorting, filtering, pagination, column order, show/hide columns, export list data, etc. While authoring a story, PO may mention that there should be a list view listing all customers and need not to mention all the implicit requirements.

Remember, Scrum is about delivering value incrementally and iteratively, so your Sprint Goal should be created with that in mind in order to maintain focus and alignment. It is also important for the Sprint Goal to be visible so that the Scrum Team does not lose sight of it.
