It's so important to be clear on what your niche is, and stay up-to-date with your industry. Don't just interact with other writers. You need to be deeply involved, on a daily basis, with your niche. It will be substantially easier for you to see changes, and adaptations to those changes, if you're involved with what you're writing about on a daily basis.

Do you ever feel lost about what to write? Then remember your niche! Knowing your niche, what appeals to them, what their interests are, can guide you towards crowd-pleasing ideas. You can determine what your audience likes by checking what they “like.” Reposted content or content with lots of comments and abundant emoji reactions clearly indicate a hot post. Your job is to then determine what elements of that content generated that level of engagement. Thank your niche they led you there in the first place!

Technical authors always need to be willing to learn/ develop new skills. With respect to writing style, applications, etc. As, like basically most/ all roles, the technology and styles of writing requirements have evolved over time.
