Since it is highly unlikely you'll find a female mentor, at least in the fields I work, my suggestions are: - Find someone that is 20y older or younger than you. It's even better if that person is happily married. - Find someone that cares more about technology than social stuff. - If no one on your team will suffice, try and look for a mentor in adjacent teams. - Be careful with the words you use. -- If you're in an office, avoid touching the other person. I'm middle aged and don't have this problem anymore, but the above advice is what I'd tell my niece.
