The best technique is Geomechanics studies. It involves the study of how subsurface stresses, pressures, and temperatures affect the rock in the formations that contain oil and gas and the rock's response to these changes. and how the formations respond during drilling, production, injection, and abandonment operations. (A) It helps engineers to predict the behavior of the reservoirs rocks and to design safe and efficient drilling and production operations. (B) helps in identifying and mitigating risks such as wellbore instability, reservoir compaction, subsidence, reservoir rock failure, and induced seismicity.
