Using "user personas" can be a good idea even in security contexts. Building an identikit of the user (e.g. patient) is not easy but useful. I remind you which are the most interesting limits to absolutely explore: minimum age and maximum age, minimum physical abilities (sight, hearing, ability to use the hands), minimum cognitive abilities, minimum culture (schooling, ability to read and write, ability to carry out calculations), professional skills (doctor, nurse, lawyer, programmer).

User journey maps are visual tools that illustrate the steps and interactions that your users have with your legacy software system. WARNING ! User tests are absolutely not sufficient to have software that complies with usability requirements. It is necessary to comply with standards (such as IEC 62366 for medical devices) to obtain adequate usability, especially if you are in a security field. Tests alone say little about the functioning of an application if they are not part of correct design.

For me it is User Centric Approach - Listening to end users' feedback it allows you to create better user journeys and validate design decisions effectively. This iterative process of collecting, analyzing, and implementing feedback ensures that the software aligns closely with user needs and expectations. It also create a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Moreover, involving users from different company levels, ex. frontline employees , management, IT, can help gain a comprehensive understanding of how the software impacts various roles and responsibilities. By addressing the diverse needs of these users, we can enhance their daily work routines & contribute to improved efficiency & productivity.
