For many years we development economists thought about how to bring children to schools, why not bring education to them? Here, I definitely see the potential of online platforms to deliver education to disadvantage communities. With a device and internet connection, students can learn from top scientists and practitioners with very little cost. Especially students from financially disadvantage families or remote areas, who fall back due to these reasons rather then their motivation and skills, can gain new knowledge and skills.

Unpopular opinions but there are lot good Indian teachers whose courses are available for free on Youtube and that too in most commonly spoken language, English. One just need to search smartly.

Because I teach using a self-paced model, students never miss the most important parts of class when they are absent (physically, emotionally, or mentally) because all explicit instruction is on video. Having access to the core part of learning no matter where they are and being able to slow down by pausing and rewinding content allows students to not only always access learning, but to make sure they actually understand before moving on. Using this model I have had students be absent for 2 weeks and return already knowing where they are, what they need to do, and say my class is the only one they feel comfortable catching up in.

Even today there are several hours of educational content available on online platforms such as YouTube etc. However, most of it in English. Thus not very accessible. Offering content in different languages would help to overcome the barrier. Keeping in mind, that having had English classes itself is only possible the wealthier families.
