Successfully? Generally speaking there is no way. But it is possible if you are really really lucky and manage to find a long term client that value you. If you don't have a single long term client that means you have to constantly search for new ones and then you have to be first and foremost a good sales person, in which case it is unlikely you are also a good programmer. Finding customers is a job in and of itself, and it is very difficult to combine it with programming.
