To them, I’d add that the purpose to scale in one market over another may be very different - ie to test or pilot entirely different facets, access very different market segments, affect brand differently, make a different type of social impact, etc. Thus, I prefer segmented / tiered scaling strategies before looking at feasibility. The “why” followed by the “how” to determine if it makes sense.

This exercise will result in the insights you need to scale not what you think you need. This way you will avoid replicating because you are basing on your story.

Clearly outline how you intend to expand your solution. Consider whether you will scale geographically, to new sectors, or through partnerships.

Scaling needs to be tied to local adaption. Especially in social innovation, what serves one community may not serve another in the same way. Partnering locally will be key.
