As I have had a first hand experience with drone technology, I am confident to say drones are a game changer is decreasing pesticides and fertilizers in farming. But using drone is more reasonable for a large scale farms as it an expensive technology , drone provide an opportunity to capture any pests infection in large area and spray precisely pesticides on that area. When compare drone with a conventional scouting we can see how much this technology works productive and save time and money .

When we say smart, are we limited to tech use or a holistic approach involving understanding of crop physiology, better seeds, integrated pest management and soil health monitoring. Everything on farm starts with improving soil and seed vigour. If seed are healthy, and growing plants have more complex protein development (insects are attracted to incomplete peptides), the pesticide use will be less. Smart Farming is understanding your farm ecology and implementing tools and techniques comprising of regenerative practices along with modern tools to improve efficiency on farm. It's a balance of the old wisdom and new advancements that can be called smart. The end goal of being smart is not just high yield, but a nutritive one too.
