1 What is exploitation in research?

Exploitation - basic definition (unknown author, not me) noun use or utilization, especially for profit: the exploitation of newly discovered oil fields. Control the vector, accountability, and hold leadership accountable. Frontline workers are working on marginal salaries with no power or income support. Leadership profiles are typically, power/ego/maniacs - I study sociopathic/narcs/terrorists personality profiles as a hobby because I am disgusted with work place abuse, DV, terrorism, micro aggression, and passive aggression. Money, power and control - tax right off to elevate ego and self is not my idea of justice.

In my experience getting a paper published as an undergrad, I spent an additional 8 months writing the manuscript without payment or credit. My advisor would give me feedback which she expected to be followed. I sent her what I thought was an at least mostly completed version of the manuscript for her final approval. Only to have most of my work moved into the supplemental part of the paper, and the paper now focused on the work she did with the work I did. When I raised concerns about this I was basically told that since I'm an undergrad, I should feel lucky to even be doing research. The paper was not changed yet, the funny part is the reviewers told her exactly what I told her the paper needed. Anyways, always keep a third party involved
