1. There are tons of report structures each organisation adopts. Each member of your SM team will expect the report to be represented in their own visual preference. PM cannot cater to each of these demands. The existing report structure defined by organisation, PM should evolve a way to represent the progress of the program where by as a collective group, SM are satisfied with the effectiveness of the information. 2. It will be beneficial to make a meaningful connection with SM offline to get visibility and help on your program blockers. 3. Team needs to be encouraged to observe, participate and provide ideas in the discussions that happen over status reporting or any other opportunity that comes along with the SM team.

In my role as a PCC, I oversee product production schedules, material management, and shipping process for each project. We regularly report project progress during our weekly meetings with our manager. When facing challenges, instead of just stating a problem, I ensure to communicate that "we're working on it" to reassure my manager that we have a plan. Also, I would actively seek guidance from my manager, for his experience and insights often provide valuable solutions to our challenges. From my experience, the key is to update the project status consistently to maintain transparency and avoid unwelcome surprises for the managers. By keeping them informed, we can address issues promptly and prevent them from getting out of control.
