Ironically, the other contributor had a typo in his post criticizing typos (no apostrophe in "I've"). While it is important to minimize mistakes and put in effort when crafting a resume, it is also the employer's responsibility to be sensitive to the increasingly competitive job market that often forces job seekers to rush their applications. As job seekers, we should not feel like we have to roll over for any demands that a job posting requires of us, and perhaps we should consider whether or not we would actually want to work for someone who dismisses an entire person as soon as he finds a typo.

Far too often Ive found myself moving past a resume the second I find a typo. It shows the individual did not invest the proper time in ensuring there were no errors. How, as an employer, are we supposed to see that as anything other than lazy? Put the time in and maximize your odds at getting an interview. Every little detail matters!
