How can IoT transform the farm-to-table experience for consumers?

Do ponto de vista de produtividade, escalabilidade e previsibilidade, s?o muito bem vindos s?o esses avan?os tecnológicos, que com a chegada das inteligências artificiais tendem a se desenvolver exponencialmente. Creio que o desafio será capacitar os humanos pra fazer as melhores escolhas na hora de discernir qual tecnologia utilizar e de qual forma, afinal essa rápida evolu??o também pode deixar lacunas.

In my experience, precision farming even though offers a win-win for all, is very challenging to scale (not at all impossible). IoT is making it possible in the best possible way but we are still far from an impact. The foremost reason is Awareness. The idea of scanning a QR code to know the complete lifecycle of the food you eat is inspiring. on the other hand, it does help farmers to make decisions based on what and how much is needed for the crop resulting in better productivity & yields. Unlike healthcare, agriculture is yet to see a modern revolution where sustainable practices are rewarded and most importantly make money for everyone involved to keep it going.

Simply, the fact is farming do need experience (precise information input) and each local environment or geographic condition changes with place to place. It means for the precision level in justifying IOT everything will depends on data. Farming is a sector where 1 single mistake result in complete farm loss. So, pre-harvest stage is actually my concern, post-harvest things can be perform in an excellent form by IOT.

From my experience this has been a game changes especially in soil less media where EC and PH is key. The root system do not forgive if you get things wrong and as we all know healthy root system is key.technology has made it easy to feed plants correctly without wasting fertilizer and water and also easily monitor green house temperatures. green house very can close and open easily on detection of temperature ranges and wind.I wish to talk more but may be in another forum.

This has come a long ways since initial inception. The traceability of food items shines with supply chain insights. Some restaurants can show you where the vegetables or meat came from. This helps the grower and highlights their capabilities. High levels of insight provide better traceability as well as food safe practices.

I'm sure you would have come across those restaurant menus with a little note at the bottom about where the ingredients come from. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. The real magic happens behind the scenes, where you can track the freshness of your food throughout the entire supply chain. Imagine knowing exactly where your food came from, how long it took to get to you, and how fresh it is when it arrives on your plate. It's like having a backstage pass to your meal’s life story. This transparency not only makes you feel good about what you’re eating but also ensures you're getting top-notch quality every time.

Dans la cha?ne d’approvisionnement il est important à mon avis que une meilleure professionnalisation des acteurs serait un atout majeur. Dans les cas des pays africains, le Senegal particulièrement, que je connaisse le mieux les conditions de cultures des produits, leur présentation/composition ne sont presque jamais mis en avant de manière à aider le consommateur à toutes les informations utiles sur le produit trouvé sur le marché.

All the things listed above are great. Major issue is adaptation of technology at the ground. Also I am talking from Indian prespective, where majority of farmers are medium and small scale. Tech needs to be frugal, adaptive,affordable and should show remarkable output difference for medium and small farmers of India. Tech should directly benefit to farmers.
