Before leaving to a customer, one should have asked all necessary questions about customer, his operations and issues on hand. Questions that will make customer feel you are yet to understand their operation; know their setup should be avoided as it create impressions that one is a trainee not a master. bear in mind customer trust is gained in the first few seconds you arrive on site. Offering Quality Installation plays a pivotal role in customer service. ”The Jack of all trades and master of none" mentality often causes a lot of failures in maintaining the systems for the long run. A veteran can install a unit way better than an inexperienced person, so first thing in quality should start from the Installation perspective then we can standardize the service practices. A person working on different models of the same platform is always the best than a person working on different platforms. Always approach the unit thru veteran knowledge, feel it like a human being, run the trouble shooting and find the route cause. Eliminate the entire path instead of doing bits and pieces. Make sure that you are having the right tools.

Quality?PMS,replacement?of?PM?consumables in?accordance?with?the?checklist&proactive?part?replacement?based?on?the error?logs. Always use PPE and proper tools as per ASM. Additionally,?in?order?to?improve?work?accuracy,?customers?must?allow?engineers?to?work?during?daytime.

Always give quality services to your customers. As a successful business depends upon the customers satisfaction, more the satisfaction more the brand value.

Print out forms and documents as you perform the task completely. Comment out anything out of the ordinary as that would help you remember. During calibration, perform twice for repeatability.

The customer feedback must be taken in very detail instead of just a telephonic survey response call with some general questions. This feedback must include the direct end user suggestion column on improvement- What is their expectation or What difference does he expect from the OEM company. The feedback can be taken just after a period of a product usage starting from Sales/Project/Marketing/Delivery/Installation/Maintenance/Application/Service Sales/Upgrades etc. I always suggest a one on one person survey by a veteran from the same product category rather than scheduling a survey thru a BPO call centre newbies. The perfect constructive feedback always helps for the better product updates/improvement and service quality.

In my experience as a field service engineer, we enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt response times, effective communication, and high-quality service. We should prioritize clear and transparent communication, provide accurate time estimates, and strive for first-time issue resolution. Additionally, being proactive, well-trained, and courteous contributes to a positive customer experience. Customers should be given the chance to access our work by sending out forms be it electronic or paper for reviews, this will enhance our customer relationship and know where to improve.

Have empathy...Try to understand the operation or requirements of customer and treat it as your own ...then the best solution could come and you can directly relate with customer satisfaction.

All these things noted really coalesce into one word: “Caring” If you genuinely CARE about your Customers as People, and not just as a “Customer or Client”, then everything noted, usually falls into place. If you genuinely CARE about your company, your team, your contributions, then it is no different than how most people behave in a family-unit… Customers are People, and People want to be known and cared for as people, not just an Invoice Number.

Trust and loyalty are not earned overnight. In an industry that you may only see a customer 2 times a year unless there is a need for emergency service, you have a very limited window. Things that can help this process are talking to the people in the office that schedule the work make sure they know about any special instructions when dealing with specific customers, and on the other side be sure any additional tasks that may not be normally performed are noted on the WO or the FSR. I know people think that FE's are super heros, for the most part we are, but we need to have all the correct information, equipment, and skills when we arrive, If tesponding to an emergency remember take time to fix the customer first and then the equipment.
