2 Choose appropriate WLAN standards

WLAN standards are sets of specifications that define how devices communicate and operate in a WLAN. There are several WLAN standards, such as IEEE 802.11a, b, g, n, ac, and ax, that differ in terms of frequency, modulation, data rate, range, and compatibility. Computer engineers need to choose the appropriate WLAN standards that can support the scalability needs of the network. For example, IEEE 802.11ax, also known as Wi-Fi 6, is the latest WLAN standard that offers higher data rates, lower latency, and improved efficiency and capacity compared to previous standards. By choosing the right WLAN standards, computer engineers can ensure that the network can handle more devices and applications without compromising performance.

Computer engineers need to implement WLAN security measures in order to ensure scalability and protect the network from unauthorized access, data theft, and malicious attacks.
