How can Adobe Creative Cloud improve your social media content creation?

Adobe Creative Cloud empowers social media content creation through a suite of versatile tools. I purchased Adobe Creative Cloud last year. Before that, I used Canva, Photopia, CapCut, and other free tools. If you're just starting out, I recommend not spending too much money on software initially. You should first get a sense of what you actually need. These free tools can handle 80% to 85% of your needs

Remember, great content isn't just about what you say; it's also about what you show. And with Photoshop, what you show can be mind-blowing. It's not just about making images look better; it's about making them feel right for your brand, your message. That's the power of Photoshop in your content toolkit.

Learning how to use Photoshop can ensure you are standing head and shoulders above others on social media. In amongst the swarms of Canva templates and basic imagery, you can stand out by using a much more effective tool. From image touch-ups, AI-supported changes, and Generative support, as well as Bridge connection to all other Creative Cloud tools, Photoshop is literally only limited by your imagination. It's an industry-standard design tool and should be recognised as such.

Photoshop is a staple for content creation work and even complements Lightroom with the integration inside Creative Cloud. The app itself will let you do more and the recent uses of Firefly will definitely augment the capabilities of the app. The only limitation is the user's imagination.

Accessibility is incredibly important on social media nowadays and a lesser-known feature of Premiere is that it can automatically add subtitles and which can be exported separately as an SRT file to YouTube for more accurate captioning. Also, Premiere Pro has a little brother called Premiere Rush, which is included in your Cloud Subscription and provides a much more accessible version of Adobe's video juggernaut. Premiere can do it all, by providing one of the greatest video tools, but it can be a steep learning curve. Rush on the other hand can be learned in minutes, and has specific settings which at the touch of a button can adapt your video to the tiktok/reels 9:16 format.

Having the ability to use After Effects on social is both a blessing and a curse. one one hand it can provide you with stellar graphics, which can elevate your brand far above your competitors, but on the flip side, using such high quality materials can lose an air of authenticity to your content. I'd suggest matching your brand and positioning, to your customer requirements and using AE appropriately from there.

If you're looking to break away from the sea of generic Canva templates (we all know them by now), without having to learn Photoshop, Illustrator etc, Spark is the way to go. Its a super easy and accessible way to create professional standard materials for social media, and with a really intuitive interface. It also has a great app, which you can use to create content on the go and has integration for much more resilient video outputs than Canva does. Use these to make your social media materials and you'll stand out.

Lightroom being available as both a mobile and desktop app is the best thing that has happened. As many smartphones have camera sensors that start to blur the distinction between DSLRs and smartphones, it's quite a powerful editing and management app as it syncs your work across devices. Having edited a few photos on Lightroom Mobile, you can easily get photo content edited and published as most won't require using the advanced-level features which are on the desktop app.

I believe Adobe Creative Cloud app skills shouldn't be mandatory for social media professionals. But it's definitely an advantage. I use Photoshop and Illustrator every day, but that's because I used to be a graphic designer. For non designers Canva and similar apps should be enough. By the way, Adobe has Adobe Express which is Canva's competitor. If businesses truly want beautiful and professional looking photos, graphics and videos, they should hire a professional designer or videographer.

Consider making learning a bit about the Adobe Suite a KPI for next year. By "forcing" myself to expand my knowledge, I completely changed the direction of the creative with the brand social accounts I manage. While I previously relied on my limited Adobe skills, Canva, and a single designer for an entire marketing team, by setting the goal of expanding my knowledge of Adobe, I was able to begin developing my own social graphics including LinkedIn Document posts (Carousels ??). Push your limits and invite yourself the opportunity to explore content creation - just leave yourself time to make mistakes as you learn (there will be plenty of, "oh no, how do I do this?" moments while you explore Adobe).

Besides the usual pro-level apps, Creative Cloud also gives you access to Adobe Express (which I see as a successor to Spark). Giving you access to many templates that you can use and customize, it serves as a great way to create content when mobile. It's even included in the subscription with more options. While the native mobile apps do provide some level of speed, not many features are yet available compared to the desktop web version. So you can start something on your smartphone and then further edit it on your laptop/desktop.

Don't forget about InDesign: InDesign is your go-to tool for crafting professional multi-page layouts.
