I’m a big fan of holistic solutions. I use systems thinking and the theory of change to see the bigger picture in the rail sector. I like to understand what the project is about and what its drivers for change are internally and externally. I like to go beyond the engineering challenge and look at the societal impact. It allows me to see how technology can be implemented and how the benefits can be realised more efficiently and accessed by more end users. I like the concept of collaboration, it’s in my DNA. So a holistic solution means I need to collaborate beyond the immediate project team and in rail that means adjacent projects or infrastructure. managing the interface means a better outcome for all.
