I absolutely agree with this. All the other tips are valid, but what I love about this one is that it shifts your focus from you and your own situation. Giving help might provide experience through volunteering and mentoring and help you to keep your skills up to date, but it's also about acknowledging that you're part of something bigger and fostering a wider culture of support and community. It acts as a positive diversion too. So this will help tou develop your skills, stay positive and connect, but more importantly, it is about community and sharing.

Staying positive is the most important thing than any other above during the lay off time. We have to answer yourself that you had no control on your lay off decision and anything happens is for your good. Look forward for this change with excitement as if you are looking for the first time after your college rather thinking why you got lay off even after your such a good performance with your past employer.

It’s not for everyone but if possible try it !
