Ask 4 Q's - a) what was the objective, b) What was the outcome, c) Root cause for the current outcome, d) What are the learnings for a better outcome next time. 3) Seek feedback: Tap into insights from colleagues and mentors for skill enhancement. 4) Celebrate small wins: Celebrate even the smallest wins to stay motivated and inspired to continue pushing towards your goals.

The answer is the question. "Was it the approach, the product knowledge, or the closing technique?" Through my experience as a sales person I get more success from my natural interest in helping the person achieve their objectives whilst actively listening to them than even considering or being conscious of 'approach' 'product' or.....cringe.....the 'closing technique!' These formulas will make people feel like they're in a bog standard, run-of-the-mill experience. When people are craving for connectivity and experience more than ever. My embrace of learning is to ....never judge a book/person by it's cover and allow them the time to reveal their needs and wants to you and consider if you can help them. Manage their expectations!

One thing we tend to do as workers is shy away from feedback and “assessments”. The thought of having someone critique your work/ watch you perform your duties can have a negative connotation. In most causes because it comes from upper management and we are worried about job security. Two things: 1. Upper management is not the only ones that can provide great feedback (I have gotten some of my best feedback from peers and direct reports) 2. Our mind frame for these assessments need to change and that sometimes needs to include an open conversation with managers. It is not an “I gotcha” moment or a reason to discipline. The main point is to be open to feedback and listen to ways you can improve and get better (hopefully with examples).

Feedback is essential in retail. Seek it from colleagues, supervisors, or customers after a failed sale. Listen actively and openly. Use feedback to adjust sales tactics, communication skills, and customer service. Understand it's for improvement, not personal criticism.

You and each of your team members owns their part on delivering the set goal in percentages or dollars, it's everyone responsibility to deliver. A goal that no one knows about, that isn't posted and discussed daily and adjusted daily to delivery on is just a note on your desk. Everyone in your building should have skin in the game.

These could be learning more about the products, trying a different way to talk to customers, or getting them more excited about what you're selling. Every small win is a step up the ladder to becoming a sales superstar!

One thing I’ve found helpful is embracing new technologies. Whether it was in the early days when I (unsuccessfully) tried to “sell” my store manager on Twitter or when I first began using email as a way to reach the customers that just weren’t returning calls. Yes, I copied and pasted links of vendors, pictures of doors, anything I could to capture the imagination of my customers. Networking has always been a key cog in building your brand. There are multiple examples in my career where new opportunities were opened for myself or someone I knew based on the network of people I had made genuine connections with. Being self aware enough to know where you can improve and then seeking a network of like minded individuals to build yourself while also helping others is a key road map to success. This also comes in the form of joining and donating your time to be a mentor or mentoree. Always look to the 2nd & 3rd level of networking as well as just networking with those you are close with closes the door on opportunities to build new relationships with individuals that could ultimately play a major role in your story.

Quando fracassamos ficamos chateados, nervosos e na maioria das vezes deixamos nos levar pela sindrome de que tudo foi ruim, e utilizamos essa energia canalizada pra transferir nossas frustra??es em alguem ou alguma coisa, porem se tivessemos a paciencia de analisar a trajetoria dos fatos, isso nos levaria a um replanejamento e com certeza utilizariamos tudo isso como um grande aprendizado, e jamais repetiriamos os mesmos erros, assim poderiamos percorrer outras dire??es que nos levariam em caminhos diferentes e consequentemente em resultados tambem totalmente diferente, aprender com os erros faz bem para quem os comete e para tudo e todos ao seu redor. Honestly, sales is having the correct answer to all of the questions and being a presentable person on the sales floor. It takes a lot of time before you understand all the opportunities and contingencies that arise in a sales experience and to develop a pitch and flow. During the sales process, you have a mountain of information to relay to the customer. A customer fully understanding the information you have given them is key to the sale and each fact you perfectly disseminate to them can be considered a milestone. In theory, when you have reached a number of milestones, the customer should be sold. That is why those talking points are features of the product. So, relay information well is my advice and make sure it's understood.
