This is one of the very important things to check because all the control loops depend on the sensor feedback and if the calibration is wrong then your feedback to the plant will be incorrect and it will generate some vague commands. Apart from sensor calibration we also need to check the calibration envelope of the sensor, what are it's limitations and under which conditions the calibration holds.
