Growing up, my vocal training coach used to constantly push me to practice speaking for 2-5 mins and 8-10 mins non-stop in front of a mirror. It could be on any topic I feel comfortable with, but I should pretend I'm addressing a crowd. That's how I got to enhance my public speaking. Eloquence doesn't come overnight. It boils down to purpose. If your purpose is to sound highly sophisticated and upper class, your choice of words and tone and accent could vary significantly. On the other hand, if you want to speak like a political leader preaching to the masses, your pauses, accent, content, speeds - everything would change THAT is ELOQUENCE. To speak with Purpose.

I have a method for testing this. First, I record my presentation. Then, when I review the video, I make sure to create closed captions and look for any words that are misspelled. This helps me find words that I didn't pronounce clearly enough for the speech recognition software to understand.

Don’t try to simply learn your speech by heart, because if something goes unplanned, you will find yourself in the middle of the scene in front of spotlights with completely blank mind (happened to me, ha-ha). Instead try to build a story in your head and tell it to yourself as many times as possible, always with different words. It will give you flexibility and ease your speech, you will never lose the thread and will be prepared for any situation. Never stop filling your vocabulary (reading!!! especially if you often speak in the foreign language), it will make your speeches much more engaging. And of course, practice, practice and practice again!

Dejar un mensaje claro, aportar información y no complejizar demasiado para poder llegar a todo el público objetivo. It's said we speak in 2 layers: 1. Literally, what we say. 2. Our emotions, what we actually want to say. Listen not to answer/respond. But, listen to understand! Understand the emotions, the underlying message, the pain-point. A one way communication channel lacks feedback. A feedback loop completes communication by make it a two way street. Resonating with the audience is an art one can master only if they actively listen to them. It isn't only words, body language also matters. In other words "Read the room"

I think it's about establishment of a constructive conversation. I practice this by assuming that there's always something to learn from those who I talk to.

And, our clients are either adding exit planning, transaction advisory, or value growth services to their offerings, they are thinking about exiting their business, or they are growing through acquisition. Adding skills not only keeps my brain sharp, but also makes us more valued advisors since we have a deeper understanding from the inside out. My Mom was sharp until just a couple of days before she passed away at the age of 97. She read something new every day.

When sending company emails, you can see how many people opened it, how many responded, and if anyone clicked the link. Focus on sending emails with high open and click rates. Also, review analytics when sending emails to vendors, partners, and clients to improve your communication by testing different communication styles.

Creo firmemente que siempre es bueno escuchar nuevas opiniones pero siempre es bueno saber también hasta donde es bueno y no perder el tiempo en demasiadas ideas que no te llevan a nada bueno es importante saber que sirve para tu crecimiento y no perder tiempo en demasiadas ideas tener conciencia ecológica siempre en todo lo que se hace y ver los impactos sociales para el futuro.
