Part of your preparation should include plans, ideas or other ways to implement whatever you might want to share with your boss. It is likely that they will be more apt to listen when you not only have an idea or opinion but have some suggestions of how to back it up. For example, if there has been discussion of a Leadership Program in the company but nothing concrete has happened, perhaps you have a plan or even two for implementation. Not only can you share that you completely support the idea, but that you may be of assistance in getting the project off the ground by sharing your tentative plans with the boss.

Conveying your idea to your higher authorities may sound complex and bit difficult. But it can be smoothly executed with few things in mind using Emotional Intelligence- 1) Understand the framework of the project and expectations of the boss. 2) Observe how you manage stress when in conversation with your boss. 3) Navigate to a common interest when suggesting your point. 4) Always keep pointers in hand when there is a conflict regarding your ideas. 5) Take feedback from your boss and also give your review for every difficult conversation. 6) Reverence is the key. Your verbal and body language should abide by it. 7) If the point is rejected, you can revisit the point again after a suitable period of time.
