Here's how you can resolve common conflicts in the manufacturing industry.

As a supervisor you should lead by example, not only over seeing the operations, also communicating with the team to ensure they know what the plan is. Working together through changes and upset conditions is an opportunity for knowledge, when you truly train your team members as if they will someday replace you, then you will have a strong team that works together and understand what they can do to support each other! A honest and respectfully blunt attitude only makes the team stronger, Always show full support and respect and it spreads through the whole team.

As the team leader, one of the most important elements is trust, communication with your team members about everything, including what your opinion is and as long as they know it comes from true understanding and respect that you want to know what is effecting them and have a positive attitude towards any feedback. Once they realize that you care about them and they can discuss the good and bad, the way you respond will set the foundation for the strongest team possible- it truly becomes a work family.

We are all human, sometimes we don’t know what our other team members are going through, as a leader you have to use the policy as a guide line in combination with common sense and compassion, If you have truly built a strong team you can meditate most upsets and resolve any situations. If the situation has went past you meditating then policy is followed with the team knowing you will be that person who supports them when they are not in the room.

My experience has taught me if you pull your team together and discuss any issues,problems or planned changes and the direction we need to move forward with full details of the what’s and why’s and ask them for feedback, input from everyone involved and not only encourage but celebrate any ideas that come from thinking outside the box, some of best ideas and changes that happen come from people asking questions and offering ideas that are either from past experience or simply they are new enough that they see things others has gotten used to.

Conflict causes destruction of professional relationship,trust & Collaboration..Negative impact of conflicts handled by mediating & creating productive ways for coworkers to deal with & resolve differences that lead to conflict.Negotiation is the main essence of conflict resolution..Three characteristic should be focused for conflict resolution and are : Openness ,which is the key to resolve conflict....a focus on the present & not on the past... Finally ,a focus on issues & not personalities..

Honest and respectful communication, open minded, open door policies and making sure the people understand everyone is important and that they have your full support, I understand it’s my job to make sure everyone has the knowledge and tools to be successful. Very important to handle good intention mistakes as an opportunity for learning, building the team into a successful work family is the best way to have success and always stand in front of your team understanding all good ideas and actions should be credited to them, any failures of the team is on you and never pass blame. As a team leader you have all the responsibility to make your team successful, build a team from inclusion, and respect. Be the leader that you would want.
