I am Prabhanjana R, Graduate with Diploma & Bachelors in Photography. In my experience understanding the basics of Post-processing is the main thing when you start with photography in general. Before you import the photograph into the software for processing make sure you have a proper idea of correcting the Image to convey the right information when you ideated even before clicking on the shutter. The processing table can make or break the message of conveying the thought. Understanding the technicality and purpose of each setting is a primary objective, strengthen your core and can be master of your work.

Post-processing can be intimidating when you are new. Don't let that discourage you. The more you practice the better you will become. I use Adobe Lightroom, with occasional trips to Photoshop depending on the subject matter. For beginners with Lightroom, I'd suggest starting at the top of the Develop module and working your way down the menus. Typically, the first thing I am doing is making sure the photo is level. You may have a specific reason NOT to make it level, and that's fine but it is probably the exception. Next evaluate your cropping and composition. If your composition is off, all the post processing in the world won't fix it. Next check color temperature, global adjustments then local adjustments. Sharpening is the last.

Une chose que j’ai trouvé utile, c’est la notion de la ma?trise de balance de blanc, exposition et netteté, mais aussi il faudra se rendre compte que le traitement est fait sur base du contexte que le photographe a de son travail. Avant plut?t de corriger l’erreur que vous avez trouvé dans son travail, il sera préférable de savoir au préalable ce qu’a été l’idée de son travail, et qu’est-ce qu’il veut lancer comme message en faisant un tel traitement. Car chaque retouche est liée à une histoire et un style plus particulier, qui peut prétendre nous être profane et qu’on peut finir par qualifier d’erreur.

When post-processing landscape photography details I start with composition. Is the image framed in an interesting way such that focus of the image is prominently displayed? Is the horizon level? That's a key point. Are potential distractions eliminated, for example are distracting items removed, trash cans, or seaweed on the beach? Is the exposure proper throughout the image, which is not to say even through the image. Is the image sharp in the right places, for example sharp on the subject of your image. When using adjustments, I'll typically start with global adjustments then move on to select, or spot adjustments.

I found out that photography is a vaste journey about finding your style. Because we are exposed constantly to a huge flow of images it’s easy to be tempted to try to reproduce what I have been done. Thus it make it harder to find our own voice. Staying inspired and patient is a key to develop your style, don’t rush. Photography is about patience and growth Allow yourself to experiment to fail and then celebrate success and pride ??

When it comes to processing an image it's not about how you have taken it and the settings your using its about how you edit it as well as the story it is tell with post processing. Before I edited an image I look do some basic adjustments first before I dive into doing my more complicated adjustments, I do basic adjustments and I use the basic panel in lightroom classic and I will uses that as a starting point before going in deeper into my image editing. Also when it comes to experimenting with editing your images, there are many ways of doing but I also recommend you just playing with it and try different things to see what you like.

Experimentation in post-processing is fun and promotes your growth and understanding of the tools. In adobe Lightroom I love the "snapshot" feature on the left side of the screen in the "Develop" module. You can try dramatically, or subtlety different techniques, create a snapshot, and then compare them side by side to see which version of post-processing you like best.

Print and hang your images on your walls. Get them off your hard-drive. By printing them and putting them up you will look at them more often. If you regularly post-process your images you will see how your technique and view has changed in 6 months to a year. That image you loved, may feel different as you advance and improve. Challenge yourself. You don't have to spend a lot of money on a frame, it could be just a paper print. Enjoy!
