If your staff feel like you truly do care about their well-being and will go out of your way to help them, then they will return the same in kind. You can study your entire lifetime and will still be a lot worst than a gifted noob that never read a book or got any kind of instructions. Create patterns or instructions to "teach the magic" it's just a great way to get money from ordinary game devs.
