? Get comfortable with the virtual platform you'll be using. Familiarize yourself with its features, such as screen sharing, chat functions, and breakout rooms. ? Ensure your internet connection is stable and have a backup plan in case of technical difficulties. ? Use a good-quality microphone and webcam to enhance audio and video clarity.

I love looking into the applications/softwares prehand (a day or two before) getting into the virtual session. It helps me get familiarised and also gives me ideas regarding how can I engage my audience effectively during the session using various tools available on the application!

I take every opportunity to share my message and engage with audiences and technology often makes this possible. Professionals from all fields must practice using their tools and we are no exception. Make sure you are very comfortable with the webinar tools at your disposal. Does your talk require breakout rooms, engagement tools, chat, or the ability for the audience to come off mute and talk? At the start on my online presentations, I like to ask my audience a question that is somehow related to my topic. They are told they don't have to share their answer publicly at the end. The purpose is to inspire them to THINK as I speak rather than just listen, and ultimately draw a personal conclusion of how the whole presentation could relate to them.

Engaging the audience in a virtual setting is crucial and brings its own set of exciting tools. You can still create incredible engagement even though you're not in the same room. If possible, stress the importance of having their cameras on. While some may prefer to turn their cameras off to multitask, this decreases their level of engagement with you and the other participants. Eye contact is effective, whether it's in person or through a computer screen. You can gauge a lot by seeing how your audience reacts, and they can see everything you're doing, so leverage the camera. There are numerous ways to engage your audience virtually. Ask them to respond or answer via chat, come off mute to share, or type on screen. You've got this!

Engaging audience is a skill learnt with time, but here is what I find helpful. Start with questions, with the why and build on it. You cannot peak anyone's interest in a certain topic until they have a why to listen and you as a speaker, need to show them their why.

? Practice your presentation multiple times to build confidence. ? Take deep breaths and stay hydrated to keep calm. ? Visualize success and remind yourself that it's okay to make mistakes.

Nerves are a natural part of public speaking and vary based on several factors. To manage them, I practice, practice, and then practice a little more. I mentally run through my presentation if I can't do a physical dress rehearsal. I imagine myself in the actual room with the audience, considering how I will use gestures, pauses, engagement tools, and AV. If the venue is new to me, I find photos or videos of the stage or room to help plan how to maximize the space and engage the audience. If using notes helps reduce your nerves and you can only get through the presentation with them, use them, but I recommend practicing enough that they won't be necessary. You've got this!

Sitting in a quiet, people free space a few minutes before your talk actually helps! Here's something that I do regularly pre-talk that you might find handy: Remind yourself of how good you are, at everything you do. And how nobody else knows your material better than you do??

An impactful icebreaker, statement, or activity can help kick things off, making people eager to listen rather than watch the clock. Keep the momentum going with a structured core that is digestible, avoiding cluttered slides and disjointed concepts. End your talk in a way that leaves the audience wanting more and feeling excited. Try using a call to action, a summary of key concepts, or a powerful closing statement. You've got this!

Practise in a mirror!!! No matter how old this advice is, this is the key to getting to know your own body language and improving it. Practise in front of a couple of friends and family too, to build some confidence & of course, constructive feedback!
