This feels silly, operational researchers are all techy people and know perfectly well how to embrace tech. The problems can come with soft OR where people need to come together. For that I recommend Decision Explorer, for strategy work, and design tools like Miro for SSM and similar. Sometimes you really do need to get people 'in the room' though.

The easiest way not to be remotely successful is failure to prioritize your work over home chores. A set block of scheduled hours defines for family and friends your unavailability. Once those parameters have been established, respect for your position will become defined for all to respectfully observe. My personal experience with employees has demonstrated this. Preemptive barriers can prevent future complications with respect to clearly delineating your remote hours.
