Curiosity does not kill the cat! At least not in the field of learning. Children are curious by nature; sadly, as they grow up, they tend to hide this curiosity as effort is involved. They become extremely selective regarding the sort of info they come in contact with. However, what is difficult is to maintain their interest and curiosity. You have to lead by example!

Bajarte del pedestal del profesor, y ubicarte a su nivel para establecer un diálogo abierto y bidireccional. Una vez identificas sus gustos, sus preferencias y sus deseos: leer, investigar, conocer buenas prácticas, atreverte, pero sobre todo: abrir tu mente.

Being curious is why I returned to education, why I did my PhD and teaching in Higher Education. With media, nothing stands still and so your teaching material cannot remain the same. Other lecturers and students are the best resource for developing ideas and challenging yourself and others.

One of the many ways you can maintain and cultivate a personal culture of curiosity is to read books on topics that genuinely interest you, which fall outside your realm of expertise. Students are curious in nature. They are always eager to get involved in activities beyond copying of notes and classworks in notebooks. It takes a curious teacher, who has been involved in innovative trainings and collaborations with fellow teachers, to reciprocate same in her classroom. Hence providing an environment for students to get involved in satisfying their curiosity.

One thing I’ve found helpful in terms of my own professional journey is regularly reflecting on my practice. This first came in the form of continually reflecting on my teaching practice, but more recently keeping a track of my leadership within education. The process of writing reflections causes me to think deeply about my craft and often re-affirms my approach to school leadership.

This is undisputable. When we are reflecting, we should aim to be thorough with it and be totally honest with ourselves; out minds should be opened to new strategies for improvement. Reflection helps us takes some steps back and strategize how can forge ahead in the most powerful way.

A teacher is a live performer. A teacher has at least 5-6 performances scheduled each day with the change of audience and content! Therefore, prepping is the most important drilling you can engage into.

Inspiration on how to teach a perceived difficult concept can come from music or an art. These students are current with the trends of life and as teachers we should be familiar with what interests them. When we get exposed to diverse activities of life, we tend to become creative in syncing them into the classroom. For instance, most students are very familiar with tiktoks, a creative teacher might ask the students to make educative post on a difficult concept and in the process of trying to get the project done, they get to master the concept.

Inspiration comes when physical and mental health are in top form. I am very fond of chess, and I practise other similar games like go/weiqi/baduk. Hiking or walking is another excellent moment to put thoughts in order.

Inspiration comes when you never forget your mentors, you keep coming back to your trainer whenever and wherever you need some motivation and I believe I am blessed to have my mentors as those whom I can rely on every other time while discussing almost every matter of my students to get wonderful ideas to tackle a particular position.

I concur! I am currently teaching ESL to young learners and spending time to know their interest is one of the best investments in the T&L process as it provides us an opportunity to tackle any issues that arise through the things they (the students) like.

First and foremost we should remember that teaching and learning is a life long process so as an educator we should never stop learning. Equipping yourself with new technologies will empower you in being more creative. Secondly, reflecting on the tools and techniques you are using in your teaching. Finally, be open for criticism and never back off from improving because there's always scope for improvement

A curious mind is a creative mind. Continuously seek out new knowledge and experiences both within and outside your field. Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars to learn about the latest trends and innovations in education. Read widely, explore new subjects, and engage with different cultures and perspectives. This ongoing learning process can provide fresh ideas and inspire creative approaches to teaching.

Before embracing creativity, we must pass through two steps. First, we need to explore a variety of methods by observing and learning from different types of lesson plans and performances. This will help us understand how creative teachers think and work. The second step is imitation. We must be able to precisely imitate what others do in order to enhance our skills in using various methods without causing harm to the children. Because, creativity in teaching must be approached with caution. After completing these two steps, we can begin to implement our own creativity in the classroom. By having knowledge of various methods and the ability to perform them, we can combine or analyze them to create engaging lessons for our students.
