It also requires you to be self disciplined, and be able to logically solve problems in a fast moving environment and to coordinate relationships not only to build it. You also have to have thick skin and be able to accommodate different mindsets and mentalities. Be respectful to others and of course to yourself. Be approachable and empathetic towards other state and feelings.

Unfortunately most recruiters and talent acquisitions relies on the job description as it is a sole source of information, while this has some truth in it, it is also a better idea to explore more, for example if you are hiring a solution architect you may want to know what the client data model is, their cloud based solution type, they run projects using agile or waterfall? Are they using DevOps? What is their operating systems? And what type of SaaS, ERP, CRM systems are they using. If the JD asks for certain specifications and you couldn't find the same qualification in a candidate; is there a replacement for that certificate, for example will Azure Architect be sufficient for an AWS Cloud based client ?

And that is why i always say work in an agency before you target an organization or internal hiring in a corporate. You see an agency has multiple clients so you are exposed to both private and public sector, and you are also exposed to different industries which will broaden your experience in terms of who are you looking for, part of my portfolio now has Hardware companies which is great because even after 8 years of doing this i am still learning like Embedded, SOC, FPGA, ASIIC....etc while working with a single company for internal recruiting might sound like a perfect job, exposure to new innovations and technologies might be limited.

Agreed 100%, i am now applying for my SHRM-CP, APHRi, PHR, as well as RPR. Certifications solidifies your understanding while it sculptures your knowledge and solidifies it. Making sure not only you have the experience but also the know how and knowledge in different aspect of the process is important. Something that i haven't thought much about and recently i am full aware of because of my studies is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I used to say it a lot without actually practicing it, now i am more aware and i try to embed it in my own process and day to day screening.

If your starting the journey now don't be picky just connect and network with almost anyone in the IT industry, only thing to make sure is to connect with ones in your region or country. If you already have a good base of connection you can now be selective with whom your connecting with, spending time with and meeting with. I like to use events, exhibitions and gatherings to connect with people as this gives you a broader and more chances to meet with great like minded individuals face to face, it is the ultimate communication tool i like because i can read how confident they are, how welcoming their personality is and it also creates a long lasting relationship.
