The ML is about teaching a machine to do something that someone could do but is so mechanical that it isn't interesting to let this person do it. Now you could say that this definition is too vast. Well, it is because the issues that ML is capable of tackling are as vast. So in any situation, there could be a more precise definition but unless you define the context, you're stuck to one of this kind.

The best key point on ML are: 1. data will growth each time on the company, 2. Choosing the one algorithm will be not optimal, 3. Choosing one workflow will be not optimal, 4. Deploying several scenario with several algorithm will be better. 5. In the end, we have a parameter which workflow will be choose based on certain criteria like MAE for regression or Accuracy for classification.

An ML project that could be interesting is an NLP project where you collect posts speaking about ML that have positive impressions, you train a model to generate the same kind of messages using Python, SQL, and GCP because why not (you will learn how to train a model on the Cloud ??). Then, you post using this model, you will gain some traffic on your page where previously you described this project. People will be convinced about it because the reason they're on your page is precisely it. Is there a better way to show others your skills? ??

However, if you do not know how to valorize your work, people will not quantify your value and your work. Learn to present your accomplishments, to emphasize what you've done. Get rid of your shyness by training yourself in front of people you trust, who will tell you that it is good when it is and will not hesitate to criticize it when it is necessary.
