Understand ML for data analysis required a strong mathematics and statistics domain knowledge because the algorithms are based on topics like derivatives, linear algebra and probability .once you have strong domain knowledge you can have better understanding about ML algorithms.

To understand ML you need a good understanding of college maths( algebra,calculus etc). In maths class you get to know when and where you can apply a particular ml model to a problem and with these models mathematics also teaches the assumptions behind them (very necessary).

The hiring manager will place a heavy emphasis on implementation during the interviews. Therefore, an understanding of the models will only get you so far. Stand out by doing the following: Research the company and role you are applying to. Is it a logistics company, a fashion brand, a supply chain company, etc? Try finding their active projects by visiting their website. In most cases, hiring managers will leave a hint in the JD. Knowing how algorithms work is more important than learning how to use them. It is not enough to know that Logistic Regression can help with predictions; it is better to understand how it works. How do the weights affect it, and where does it perform best?

Three types of ML algorithms include regression, classification and clustering.where regression algorithms gives continuous values in output for example prices of houses and classification gives us discrete values for example cat or dog i.e there exists two classes and clustering algorithms gives us both continuous and discrete values side by side for example cluster of different numbers.

A hands on any of the models also helps in your explanation. Understanding of the math and assumptions behind them can also set you apart and expertise in what you are talking about.

Regression problem includes problems with continuous values like price of cars is one lakh ot two lakh and classification problem includes problems like yes or no ,high vs low etc

Be detailed in explaining your approach, the challenges you faced, and how you overcame them. Highlighting the impact of your work on the business or project will make your examples more compelling.

The importance of evaluation metrics can vary based on the problem at hand. For example in some cases recall may be more relevant than precision like in the case of cancer detection where the data is unbalanced and hence accuracy or precision is not a good measure of model performance

For Classification problems, a confusion Matrix will effectively evaluate your model's performance. I always suggest working with Train-Test-Validation rather than Train and Test. This will ensure you can test your model with data it hasn't seen before.

The importance of metric is very important like accuracy precision and recall and F1 score for classification but most important is that what these values represent acutely and how can we improve our problem algorithm by finding theses values . lile that mean square error is important but low error doesn't mean model predictions is very good there are aome case's like where there is class imbalance the mean square error low doesn't mean good problem solving.

Mastering evaluation metrics allows you to select the best model for a given problem and justify your choice. Explain how different metrics provide insights into model performance and their relevance to the business context. Demonstrating the ability to balance multiple metrics shows a comprehensive understanding of model evaluation.

The performance of any model depends on how you preprocess data. I was working on a Used Car prediction model with XGBoost and scaling my data using the log transform improved my accuracy by 5%

Strong knowledge corect way of data collection makes our model performance Better if dat is not in good form the model may gives very bads results.also data cleaning is very crucial Just like if we have data of students marks than we can fill null values by zero and if the data is of heights of person is can't be filled by zero as height is never been zero.The target feature selection is also crucial for data analysis.

You can also go into the depth of data cleaning. There are many ways to handle missing data like we can fill them with the mean/median based on the feature we are handling. If more than 30% of the rows have that feature missing we can even drop that column altogether. Outliers can be detected by Z score technique as well and removing them is necessary to have well prepared data ready to train the model

I've handled missing data by using imputation techniques such as mean substitution or predictive modeling based on related features.
