What I do is listen to everything, ask what all the others told them to do that didn’t work then find out what everyone else is missing and that is most likely the cause of the problem. And most of the time it is the easy step that now one thinks of because the problem can’t really be that easy, can it?

I can’t stand IT people that only spout out acronyms because they saw them in the news or read them in a book somewhere and most of the time don’t even have a clue what they mean, what I would like to see is if you’re going to use an acronym in an email or speaking or in any text you first say what you’re talking about in real words put brackets around the acronym and then at that point you can use the acronym through the rest of the paragraph most IT people only use acronyms and nobody in the room has a clue what they’re talking about. DC means domain controller in IT but if they’re not IT people DC means death certificate in another profession what are we talking about here? Death certificate or domain controller?

Remember if you are in sales selling a specific product or Security appliance you are not selling a security appliance. You are selling yourself first then you are proposing a solution and selling a solution regardless of what the product is people buy you first then they buy the solution second
