En Ciberseguridad es importante ir poniendo muros (paredes o capas) entre la información, servicios y sistemas que podemos tener dentro de una organización. Al poner capas de seguridad diferenciadas entre todo lo anteriormente escrito, forzamos o buscamos a qué un atacante desista de un ataque debido a la alta complejidad que conlleva vulnerar tantas capas de seguridad. Intentamos simular una cebolla (la cual tiene distintas capas) y así protegemos el núcleo (sistemas, información y servicios) Sistemas de seguridad como IDS, IPS, Endpoint Protection, son distintas capas que un atacante debe traspasar para lograr realizar un ataque, cuantas más capas pongamos, más difícil es para el atacante.

And we need to stop referring to it as “defense” in depth and change our mentality to Adaptive Data Centric Security.

There are training programs that build cyber-security awareness that are relatively easy to setup and administer. The second suggestion I would make relates to artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence tools can increase the speed and scope of attacks on our networks. To meet this threat, we need to marshal AI as a new tool set to defend ourselves.
