This was especially hard for me early on because I wanted to impress everyone. The key here is to not try to impress. You will impress people with your work naturally. Do not try to go above and beyond just because you think it will make you gain status. The truth about it is, that engineers are always trying to find another way (the best way) to do something. If you find yourself trying to impress your colleagues by doing something that they have never done, it could be good, but it could also end in disaster. I have seen this first-hand. Follow your senior leadership and remember what you learned from them coming up. There isn’t a prize for being perfect and perfection is unattainable. As engineers we all know that fact.

Get yourself a new company to work, don't stay too long. Get yourself a new project to do, with different team member. Always be a new guy. Stay humble. Let yourself learn new (soft) skill if hard skill is too hard to learn. Don't get stress, remember you don't have to be an engineer for your whole life time hehehe...

Uma coisa que achei útil para contribuir com os engenheiros é nossa Mente! Muitas vezes negligenciada. Nossa realidade é criada pelo subconsciente, e em qualquer carreira, em qualquer posi??o hierárquica é necessário esse entendimento da mente. Deixar isso de lado pode ser uma catástrofe na vida profissional. Deixar a vida levar pode n?o ser uma boa ideia! Existem técnicas, existe sabedoria para lidar com o subconsciente. Tudo inicia na Mente! Se a sua mente está defasada, talvez seja hora de você parar, respirar e repensar sobre tudo!

One of the best practice I used to follow in my career is keep changing the companies, roles, type of projects, or sometimes the locations. Moving could be more healthy for some people because changing the entire environment will create a new challenge and add more experience to your background. Doing same thing in daily basis for significant period is boring and will lead to kill your enthusiasm. Furthermore, you will be always fit for the job market and have no fear to leave your job for any reason.
