Layoff is phase, one which never wish to go through but there is one thing we can always do to deal with it, Create your own projects, POC, Collaborate with other learn and create connection, Even if we don't came across layoff, Keep the learning curve above all is the most important thing, one must prioritize.

Layoff is always painful, but don't let you drag it down - as probably more amazing things ahead! As data engineer, you can easily consider alternative career paths based on your interest + potential past exposure: - Data / BI analyst: getting closer to business side, and understanding their thought process - Product management: prioritizing future road map by maximizing company (& customer) benefit - AI specialist: taking applied ML or other techniques further & deep-dive into it - Software engineer: your developer skillset in Python & co will help you get quickly onboarded into more general software engineering (especially backend) Above only few options + many more available; so don't let the layoff drag you down!
