Often times I see 360-feedback mean it is a 360 degree view of the employee; however, it often comes from one person (supervisor, boss, etc...) and exclusively their perception or even worse, their tidbits of data from others. My recommendation of a 360-feedback is truly to get the feedback directly from peers, coworkers, and individuals that engage with an employee every day. Also, allowing the employee to provide feedback on others that they work with on a regular basis. This enables the organization to be accountable to one another and also helps mentally accept feedback from others knowing that you, in turn, are also providing similar feedback and guidance. One caution: there are always outlier notes that need taken and dismissed.
