Listening in public spaces to create a world of connection, belonging, and wellness.
关于我们
We listen in public spaces to prize human connection and end the epidemic of loneliness, disconnection, and hatred in our world today. Sidewalk Talk is a volunteer nonprofit with 7500 volunteers listening in over 89 locations across 15 countries every week to create a world of belonging. YOU BELONG HERE. Why? By listening in public spaces and prizing human connection we can radically alter many of the crises our world is facing today. Violence, discrimination, mental illness, environmental degradation, poverty, and political tribalism all start at as seed of isolation and loneliness. We aim to change the shape of our disconnective communities, politics, workplaces, and economies by starting on the sidewalks all over the world. listening and connecting.

Sidewalk Talk began as a mental health initiative, but at its heart, we’re rooted in caring for all humanity—including through our political actions. ?????????? ?????? ???????? ???? ???? ???????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ?????????? ??????????????? ?? ?????????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????? ???????????? ?????????? ???? ???? ???? ???? ??????????????.?? ?? ?????????? ?????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???? ???????? ????????. ?? Democracy is a profound accomplishment—a process of dialogue, disagreement, and finding ways to protect our shared interests. At Sidewalk Talk, we believe in our capacity to see beyond disagreements and to radically devote ourselves to listening with heart to every person we meet. We know that this skill has eroded over time, which is why we do what we do. One of democracy’s foundational elements is that voting serves as a form of dialogue. We don’t treat people in our communities as enemies just because they vote differently. Instead, we stay connected as community members and, perhaps, ask questions and truly listen. We know there are issues to solve. We don’t ignore that the ability to dialogue is impacted by disparities in resources, social media, and rhetoric that often mirrors playground name-calling. This cheapens what could be valuable conversations about our values and policies, reducing them to something unproductive—or even harmful. Many listening organizations are working to foster dialogue across political lines. Some of our favorites are @BraverAngels, @moral_courage, and @realirshadmanji For our part, we will keep teaching and practicing heart-centered listening in public spaces to create healthy humans and a just world. Nickelodeon, Amazon Web Services, and Paramount are giving money to folks wanting to start Sidewalk Talk chapters worldwide.
