For achieving this goal, I would advise the to-be economist to take modules in philosophy of social sciences or political economy, extracurricular programs in public policy, or even to choose multidisciplinary programs such as PPE.

It also enhances your qualifications for higher-level positions in industry, government, and academia. I think an MA in economics can beca great idea for economist who figured out throughout our after their Bachelor's that they want to understand some more specific sub-field in economics. For young economists after BA, who don't know exactly what facet of economy should be their main focus, I would suggest to try and illustrate some general outlines for finding their first job. My suggestion is to apply to several positions in different places, and to use the application process as a way to do some 'fine tunings' in the job search. Try to find an interesting job in a big and diverse firm in a well established industry, such as think tanks banks or consultancy, and keep asking yourself all the time what should be my next step in my career. Remember - first job almost never will be the best fit.
