My POV: - Embrace the feedback with justifications. - I have been part of 4-5 critical changes which could have resulted in a disaster, if not gone well. I did not get much help each time & I had to fight through other's suggestions (how not to use them). - You know your system better than others. - IMHO, to improve yourself you must always think negatively (in terms of use cases and scenarios). e.g, it is good to think - "What if the network goes down?" - When you ask questions, you start answering them gradually and voila you have started your first steps in improvement in system design. - Reading blogs and white papers is a must - Last, but not least, it can't be inculcated in a day, and thus stay humble, learner, and eager my friend.

The trust we gain in by acknowledging the feedback we get and acting upon, lead the stakeholder towards a much more collaborative interaction for helping to achieve the goal. That can be done using Jira/Confluence (Atlassian tools) or by weekly meetings / emails, short sessions etc. If the team share the progress/issues, we can move forward and learn of any anticipated issue beforehand.
