Strategic thinking is critical. Though at same time, showing your creativity and ability to challenge status quo by asking meaningful questions around the WHY of every part of vision and goals will showcase your ability to lead and own the process of delivering strategy! At the end, in my view everyone wants an Executive who can bring in change in line with company culture, market positioning and so many other nuances. An Business Architect who is able to showcase these varied aspects would be an Asset!!!

There are few additional issues to consider. 1. Avoid over architecting. Since every architecture will require rearchitecting. 2. Understand the limitations of comparing Enterprise Architecture with Civil Architecture beyond a point. 3. Focus on why we should have Enterprise Architecture over and above what and how we should have Enterprise Architecture. 4. Limitations of diagrams in depicting Enterprise Architecture.

All the previous points are valid but what about asking questions of the organisation? Only so much information and research can be done up front, therefore asking questions in an interview in order to validate assumptions and learn more before you answer will always help
