Developing Digital Talent in Toronto

Developing Digital Talent in Toronto

When Infosys was founded in 1981, it was centered on the idea of building training capabilities and infrastructure for enterprise transformation. Now, forty years later and on the heels of a global pandemic, that concept is more important than ever. In the last year, industries have been radically changed and talent transformation is a key enabler for all companies.

Infosys recognizes the need of the hour and has been heavily investing in workforce development for years. As our business continues to grow in Canada, so does our commitment to developing a strong pipeline of local talent that can serve the needs of our clients.

In continuation of this journey, I am proud to share that earlier today, we announced that we’re opening a new Digital Development Centre in Mississauga and creating 500 jobs in the Greater Toronto region over the next three years . This new space is almost 50,000 square feet and will enable us to not only collaborate with our clients, but also to train our employees on cutting-edge technology skills.

We already have a strong foundation in Toronto, and creating a new Centre in Mississauga was a natural fit. The region’s dynamic education ecosystem and thriving private sector make it an ideal location for us to expand our local presence. Furthermore, we found allies in local government leaders who share our belief that in order to come out of this pandemic stronger than before, we must invest in innovation and training.

We know that companies have an important role to play in creating opportunities for individuals to develop digital skills and build pathways for upward career mobility. That’s why we’ll focus on hiring Canadian talent, upskilling both university graduates and reskilling in-market talent for today’s skill needs. We’ll nurture next generation capabilities such as artificial intelligence, data science, automation, and machine learning to hone our competitive edge.

Through this Digital Development Centre, we’ll be better equipped to serve North American clients in the financial services, healthcare, communications, retail, and natural resources sectors.

There is no question that the past year has been one of the most challenging periods in modern history. But with darkness comes, opportunity, and we see a lot of that in Canada. We look forward to working with our clients and partners in Toronto and across Canada and North America to continue to drive digital their transformation efforts and to create a strong pool of top technology talent.?
