It's important to have a continuous feedback loop where you're consistently evolving your thought leadership angle to stay current with the latest trends and information. An equally important part of improvement is helping them get better at speaking. This includes media/speaker training, in particular focusing on learning how to speak in sound bites. It's easy to be verbose and pontificate, it's much harder to speak in short points that will make an executive easily quotable.
