Apart from being SMART, goals should be directly relevant to the employee’s role combined with team targets as well as align with broader corporate objectives. Employee involvement is important while setting goals as it builds a sense of ownership. It is also important that goals are reviewed periodically to ensure relevance, sustainability and continuous improvement.

Uma boa avali??o alinha o funcionário com as expectativas da empresa no cumprimento de suas metas. Typically starting off with identifying training needs which begins with assessing employee’s skill and job responsibilities ensuring it benefits both the organization and the employee. Tailor trainings to address skills gap, employee's role and business goals. Using performance data and metrics to review progress. Receive regular feedback from employee to understand their perception of the training’s usefulness and applicability to their daily tasks. Training methods can be varied to accommodate different learning styles and preferences. A culture of learning and a reward system for self-improvement and knowledge sharing should be encouraged.

In my experience, engaging employee to have clear line of sight of how his role contributes to the overall success of the team and the company has been quite rewarding. Clear communication of the deliverables using performance data as foundation for discussion while offering constructive feedback highlighting areas of strength and achievement, as well as areas that may require improvement. One way of encouraging dialogue is by asking open-ended questions that prompt employees to reflect on their achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement. Listen actively and empathetically and get insights and suggestions from their feedback acknowledging that you value their inputs and you’ll implement their innovative ideas.
